    Course Content:

     

    • Overview of the Ecology and Design of Gardens by the Bay: Students will first learn the design background of Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay and understand its unique significance as a symbol of green urban design. The course will detail the sustainable development concept, ecological innovation technology and harmonious relationship with the natural environment in the garden.
    • Design and Function of Supertree: Students will explore the design concept of the iconic building “Supertree” of Gardens by the Bay in depth. These vertical gardens are not only a model of architectural art, but also integrate green technologies such as solar panels, rainwater collection and air purification. Students will learn how Supertree finds a balance between functionality and aesthetics, providing inspiration for environmentally friendly buildings in future cities.
    • Build Supertree Model: In the hands-on practice session, students will work in groups to build a model of Supertree using renewable materials. By simulating the structural design of Supertree, students will understand how to build a green ecosystem in a limited space, and use creativity and engineering skills to create their own future ecological buildings.

  • Crafting Sustainable Cities of the Future

    Course Content:

     

    • Conception of Future Cities: The lecturer will introduce the basic principles of modern urban planning and the trends of future urban design. The lecturer will also use case analysis to show the innovative practices of different cities around the world in energy utilization, smart transportation and green buildings, helping students to form their own urban concepts.
    • Model Material and Tool Selection: Before hands-on practice, the lecturer will introduce in detail the characteristics and uses of different materials, such as foam board, wood, plastic, LED lights, etc. The lecturer will explain how to choose materials suitable for your design and demonstrate how to use tools to cut, assemble and fix model materials, while encouraging students to improve the environmental protection and sustainability of the model through resource management.
    • Hands-on Model Making and Cooperation: Students will build their own future city models. The lecturer will provide technical support throughout the modeling process to help students solve challenges in structure, balance or aesthetics. The lecturer will also guide students on how to divide and coordinate work in teamwork, and provide them with some methods to optimize the design, such as how to use space and how to use energy efficiently.

    Course Content:

Through the first test and debugging, students will ensure that the model can run smoothly on the track.
